CHRISTMAS EVANGELISM IN ELEJA, LATVIA

Dear friends! I recently thought about what if I walk from house to house of any city in the world and ask when they last heard the Gospel. I was sure that people would answer that either it was a long time ago, or recently from representatives of the "Watchtower" (the so-called Jehovah's Witnesses). Friends! This is our great commission from the Lord. We need to convey the truth to people. After all, the enemy of human souls is trying to gain many by spreading false teachings.

Recently, the Lord allowed me to meet ministers who sacrifice their careers, time, and even literally everything in order to win souls for Christ and help those in need.

We cannot complain that our churches are not growing. We need to first experience a personal revival, put our lives in order with the Lord, ask Him for help and the power of the Holy Spirit, and go into this world to bring the Gospel in simplicity of heart.

Let's read about how Paul felt when he saw the perishing world around him. In Acts 17:16 it is written, "Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry." Is our spirit stirred at the sight of souls going to eternal destruction with their idols? Do we care about them? It's time to wake up and call people to repentance again, carrying the truth of the gospel uncompromisingly.

Today we held a small evangelism, preparing envelopes with tracts, where I briefly described the life of Jesus Christ, the purpose of His coming and called to repentance, and we also put a chocolate bar in each envelope.

Christmas is the holiday that reminds the world of the birth of their Savior and Lord. Has Christ already saved you from your sins? This should not just be our theology, but life that testifies to it.

Below is the text of the tract in English, Russian and Latvian. I would like to thank our friends who participated in this in one way or another. The Lord will reward you for this.

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Why are we celebrating Christmas? Why are we celebrating the coming year 2021? With what event do we begin our chronology? 2021 years ago, the Savior Jesus Christ was born into this world. It is in His honor that we celebrate this wonderful, joyful event – the birth of Christ. And it is from the date of His birth that we count our years. The years BC mark humanity living according to the Old Testament, and our era marks the coming of the New Testament. It is often said that Christianity is only 2021 years old. But we must understand that God came into this world and was born in flesh as a human being 2021 years ago, and He always existed. He is eternal and has no beginning or end. So why did He come into the world as Savior? To save the people from their sins and to grant freedom, peace and joy. Jesus Christ is the Living Water, and everyone who comes to Him will never thirst again. He said, "If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink." (Bible, Gospel of John 7:37). Dear friend, perhaps you have been looking for answers to troubling and tormenting questions for years, and whatever you try, it does not bring you peace. Why? Because it is dead water. It makes the heart callous and the soul cold. Christ offers water where you will find your long-awaited joy and peace. At the end of the Bible He repeats these words again, and today on His birthday they are also addressed to you, "And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely." (Bible, Revelation 22:17)

And this is serious, because your eternity is at stake. Life has meaning. Do you think you will go to heaven when you die? Here's a little quiz to find out: Have you ever lied, stolen, or used God's name in vain? Jesus said, "Anyone who looks at a woman lustfully (sexually desiring her) has already committed adultery with her in his heart." If you did any of the above, according to the Scriptures, God sees you as a liar, a thief, a blasphemer, an adulterer at heart, and the Bible warns that one day Christ will come to judge the world. God will punish such people in a terrible place called Hell. But God does not want anyone to die. We make our own choice. Sinners violated God's law, and Jesus paid a fine for them. If not for Him, eternal destruction would await us. This means that God can legally forgive and set free: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (Bible, Gospel of John 3:16). Then Jesus rose from the dead, defeating death. Therefore, we celebrate Easter. Do you want to "resurrect" here on earth for a new life? Having come to Christ, you can no longer be the same, you become a new person with a completely new life. This is called being born again or from above. Repent today and trust Jesus, and God will grant you eternal life without silver and gold. Your soul is dearer than any treasure. As you make this decision to follow Jesus, read the Bible daily and do what Christ commanded. God will never leave you. Let Christ become your life!

Come to Me, all you who are weary and heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. (Bible, Gospel of Matthew 11:28)

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.” (Matthew 28:19-20)
